SEC undertakes policy research
work in environmental management and developmental areas with
overall objective of mainstreaming sustainable development issues.
Recently the chief officer of the organization was associated with a
reputed institution in India on Institutionalizing Strategic
Environmental Assessment (SEA) in India. The project is being
supported by a donor agency. SEC professionals have experience of
undertaking policy research oriented work such as State of the
Environment Report, Strategic Environmental Assessment, Waste
Management strategies, etc.
Some of the key areas where we can assist in policy research are
following :

Support to National Host Institute (NHI) and State Host Institute(
SHI) for preparation of the State of the Environment Report for
States, including data and information collection, organization of
stakeholder workshop and report preparation

Strategic Environmental Assessment of Policy/Plan/Programmes and
capacity building exercises

Strategic policy review of Industries towards achieving
sustainable development

Integration of environmental aspects while working on development
sector

Local level environmental planning and management

Capacity building of institutes/organisations vis-à-vis sound
environmental policy

Environmental/Social/Sustainability research work on any given
aspect
SEC believes that despite having numerous tools of
environment management, organisations still grapple in handling
corporate social responsibility; primary reason for this is lack of
sound and result oriented environmental/social objectives. We can
help organisations in making sound environmental policy leading to
result oriented goals.
